November 1, 2024 – The melange fabric developed by combining Tencel™, the representative material of Lenzing Group, a leading global manufacturer of wood-based specialty fibers, and Shinjintex's innovative processing technology won the grand prize at the 'K-Textile Awards' hosted by the Korea Textile Trade Association and organized by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. This award is evaluated as an achievement that recognizes the innovation of textile materials based on accumulated technological prowess and sustainability.

Development of resource-saving fabric through eco-friendly process

This award-winning fabric is a post-dyeing fabric with a melange effect using Tencel™ Lyocell material, and the resource-saving catchionic processing technology has been added to implement a header effect in various colors. In particular, this post-dyeing processing method minimizes the use of dyes and chemicals, and reduces water and energy usage, minimizing environmental impact.

Tencel™ Lyocell that has received eco-friendly certification

The Tencel™ Lyocell used in the award-winning fabric is made from wood extracted from managed forests and is produced through a closed-loop process, saving resources and fulfilling responsibility for the environment. In addition, Tencel™ Lyocell has eco-friendly certifications such as the EU Ecolabel and FSC, and is easily identifiable in the final product, increasing transparency and responsibility in the supply chain.
